The Woodbine Cross Country Boy' team made
their sixth straight appearance at Saturday's
2009 State Cross Country Meet in Fort Dodge.
The Tigers finished forth place in the 1A division
at the State meet for the second year in a row.
St. Albert trailed Woodbine and placed fifth,
while the Logan panthers finished ninth.
"We have had several players
who have really been playing
well all season long. Ryan
Fouts has had an incredible
year on both sides of the ball.
Austin Hedstrom again has had
a great year on offense,
defense, and as a returner on
special teams. Dustin Moores
has proven to be a very tough
linebacker, and Zach Archer
has really improved throughout
the year at quarterback. Kyle
Kuhlman and Derek Wagner
have also had a great season in
the backfield. We will need our
offensive line to take control of
the game and create space for
our backs to run," said
Woodbine Head Football Coach
Jason Strong

Thumbs up to Mrs. Heistand, the "Secret Life
of Girls" cast and crew and Mrs. Sprecker for
getting a grant for the new large screen and
projector for the Woodbine Community School.
“I want to commend the girls basketball team on a
season full of improvements. Every year, I feel like we
are taking greater steps in the right direction. Our senior
captain’s will be greatly missed next year. Alyssa
Dunlop was a constant threat for us under the basket
both offensively and defensively. Nikki Mel by had a
knack for stealing the ball, and she always had an
excellent offensive visual of where her teammates
were on the floor. Paige McMains played a huge part in
handling the ball for us. She also had stellar speed and
could keep up with any team we met along the way.
Many of our underclassmen played important roles this
season as well. We will be looking for them to become
the leaders next season and guide our team to even
more victories. Thanks for your hard work and
dedication to the sports programs at Woodbine
Community School,” ~ Coach Strong
Alyssa Dunlop – 2nd Team Western Valley Conference
Congratulations to Austin
Hedstrom on achieving his
100th career “wins” this
school year.
